What's it like in our Sunday School?
The largest department is the Juniors, aimed at hearing children. This is for year 3 to year 6. We usually have 100 or more children there. We stay together for half an hour, when we sign choruses and a hymn, have a Bible reading and a prayer. The leader gives a short item. Everything can be interpreted. Also we have a quiz based on last week's lesson.
Then we split into smaller classes. Deaf children can be taught in sign language. We can discuss any other needs.
Children then are given a worksheet to take home and there are interesting items, sweets etc. to 'buy' with tokens before home time.

Girl's Bible Class
The strongest support for deaf children is in the Girl's Bible class, which is for young women aged 12+. All the meeting is interpreted, including hymns, items, prayers, Bible readings and class teaching.

Please contact us if you want to bring a deaf child.
We would like to know age, BSL, ASL etc. Lipreader, reading skills etc.

We collect local children
Please contact us to find out if you are within our catchment area. We can arrange for drivers to visit you before picking up, so everyone can meet each other. You are welcome to come on a Sunday afternoon and see how we operate.

We would like to set up a department for deaf children, to teach fully in the deaf way. We would welcome any deaf children to join us to be able to offer this facility. Please contact us if you are interested.
