A new series in the unique, almost 'breathless' Gospel emphasizing the actions of Christ. A Sky television series.

37 messages available as three boxed sets of CDs or two boxed sets of DVDs. Two messages per DVD as shown, one message per CD. Please note that currently only box 1 (messages 1 - 22) is available on DVD.

MK 01 Christ is Revealed       Mark 1.1-11
Here the amazing term 'Gospel' is defined, John the Baptist and his message explained, and Christ's greatness and mission presented.
MK 02 Christ's Power and Purpose          Mark 1.14-34
The first miracle recorded in Mark in the first public healing miracle to be described in detail - the healing of a demoniac, and this illustrates the whole purpose of Christ's work of spiritual healing.

MK 03 Details of Faith       Mark 1.35-45
By focusing on selected miracles, Mark provides a detailed picture of conversion to Christ, and of saving faith.
MK 04 Total Faith       Mark 2.1
In this perfectly assembled 'tract' explaining faith in Christ, Mark now selects the healing of a paralyzed man famously lowered by four friends through the roof of the house, and the calling of Matthew, who gave up a fortune to be a disciple. In their experiences we find the facts about conversion.

MK 05 Total Transformation        Mark 2.15
This message first answers the claim that Christ went to 'parties', then comments on whether believers today should drink alcohol. It proceeds to explain the parable of the patch of new cloth on an old garment - a picture of the need for total transformation.
MK 06 The Christian Sabbath         Mark 2.23
Challenged by the Pharisees about keeping the Sabbath, Christ called Himself 'Lord of the Sabbath'. What was this special day, enshrined in the Ten Commandments, and how should it be kept today?

MK 07 The Total Necessity of Faith          Mark 3.1
Under the hostile watching eye of Pharisees, in the synagogue at Capernaum, Christ heals on the Sabbath. But what a healing it was, in terms of its power to illustrate faith and conversion! Here, too, is counsel of veteran believers to avoid 'half-faith' in the ongoing Christian life.
MK 08 Receptive Hearers          Mark 4.1-20
In the 'prince of parables' Christ describes three categories of unproductive hearing of his message. Are we described here? But this parable also applies to the believer, showing how to avoid useless reading and hearing of the Word.

MK 09 Christ Shows His Way        Mark 4.21
A remarkable group of small 'parables' showing the unique character of Christ's teaching and the way he works in hearts, bringing people to conversion and faith.
MK 10 Irresistible Grace          Mark 5.1-2
A healing miracle that portrays conversion from God's point of view. He takes the initiative, releases us from bondage to life, opening the mind and heart to salvation, and changing our nature. Here is a picture of Christ's amazing kindness and power.

MK 11 The Touch of Faith     Mark 5.25-31
The place of faith in conversion to Christ is illustrated here in the healing of the woman with a twelve-year haemorrhage. This so closely parallels the exercise of faith in salvation that seekers are helped to approach the Lord.
MK 12 The Centrality of Faith     Mark 5.35
The raising of the daughter of Jairus is both an encouragement to intercession for others, and a lesson in faith. The contrasting unreasonableness of unbelief is seen in the hostility to Christ of the people of Nazareth.

MK 13 Duties of Disciples       Mark 6.7
When Christ sent out twelve disciples to preach and heal through the land he gave instructions which guide our discipleship today. Here are nine continuing rules by which we may bring glory to him.
MK 14 Compassion, Labour and Faith       Mark 6.34
The feeding of the five thousand provides magnificent lessons for Christian workers on these topics, especially the real instrumentality of labour in witness and preaching.

MK 15 Religious Sins       Mark 7.1
The Pharisees preferred ritual acts of human invention to Scripture. Amazingly a downgrading of Scripture occurs today when Christians will not heed it on the way they worship. Here is Christ's challenge to think biblically. Here, also, is Christ's list of sin to be fought.
MK 16 Inner Sin        Mark 7.21
Twelve dominant sins cradled in the thought-life are listed by Christ as He shows the need of divine mercy and forgiveness. Here also is the remarkable example of the faith of a Canaanite woman who would not be put off.

MK 17 The Higher Purpose       Mark 8.1-26
Spiritual lessons from the feeding of the four thousand, the Lord's refusal to give a sign to the Pharisees, and the unique two-stage healing of a blind man. All these - with a reproof given to the disciples - train us for discipleship today.
MK 18 Penal Substitution is Central        Mark 8.27
Christ's hearers thought he was a great prophet - but not their expected Messiah, because they sought a warrior-king political deliverer. Even the disciples misunderstood. Here the Lord teaches the necessity of his death, the terms of seeking him, and the coming Kingdom of God.

MK 19 Purpose of the Transfiguration       Mark 9.2
Undoubtedly the most elevating event experienced by three disciples on earth, the transfiguration was a preview of Christ's future glory. It would teach them ten striking lessons in the months leading to Calvary - and afterwards.
MK 20 The Realignment of Life      Mark 9.30
Insights into the private training of the apostles as the Lord gives challenging lessons on pastoral humility and service, accountability to God, and continuing sincerity. How different these aims are from the prevailing culture - then and now.

MK 21 The Rules of Marriage          Mark 10
Christ sets out the sanctity of marriage and speaks about divorce, but as He does so He uses some remarkable words which throw light on the positive rules, aims and precautions for Christian marriage.
MK 22 Wealth Versus Spirituality        Mark 10.17
Christ's testing call to the rich young ruler revealed the hostility of materialism to spiritual life. How and why do riches hinder salvation? And how do they spoil the spiritual lives of saved people? Here is Christ's challenge to all Believers.

MK 23 Unexpected Teaching        Mark 10.32
Why were the disciples so blind to the atoning death of Christ, even after several predictions? And why were they so slow to see the massive difference between human government and church government? How they needed the healing of Blind Bartimaeus to demonstrate God's unexpected method of salvation.
MK 24 Christ's Entry into Jerusalem         Mark 11.1
Preceded by a demonstration of divine omniscience, Christ rides into the city to fulfill seven great purposes. Here, also, are the lessons of the barren fig tree. Here is Christ, voluntarily going to humiliation and execution to secure mercy for billions of souls.

MK 25 Christ Challenged in the Temple         Mark 11.27
Three days before His execution the Lord is confronted by the chief priests, murder in their hearts. Here is His response, and the predictive parable of the wicked vineyard tenants - fulfilled in detail in the unfolding events ahead.
MK 26 Spiritual and Eternal Discoveries       Mark 12.13
Hostile questions by Jewish teachers about tax and the resurrection draw answers from the Lord that throw them into disarray, but also teach about our duty to God, and relationships in eternity.

MK 27 Christ in Complete Control        Mark 12.28
Three days before crucifixion the Pharisees present their last hostile public question to Christ, but to their horror, they see their appointed 'champion' deeply moved and persuaded by the Lord's reply - a demonstration of His mercy to him, even under persecution Christ goes on to prove the divinity of Messiah.
MK 28 Watching and Waiting      Mark 13.1
The Lord answers questions about the destruction of the temple and the end of the age, giving the signs of His return. Here also is the repeated exhortation to watch, and how we respond to it, watching the unfolding scene, ourselves, watching also for others, and for Him.

MK 29 Dedication or Treachery?         Mark 14.1
Mary of Bethany's 'anointing' of Christ with costly perfume six days before His death was an enlightened act. Here are lessons which live on. What lay behind the contrasting treachery of Judas? Here is light on the Lord's last days.
MK 30 The Lord's Supper and Gethsemane        Mark 14.22
The supper, and the difference between its symbols of bread and wine. The meaning of the blood of the covenant, and the spiritual benefits of the supper. Here also are lessons from Peter's self-confidence, and the importance to us of Gethsemane's terrors.

MK 31 The Parade of Humanity       Mark 14.41
"The hour is come!" declared Christ, and led His disciples to meet the great company of clergy and soldiers come to arrest Him. So began an episode of venom and cruelty showing the antagonism of people toward Him throughout time. Yet even as He suffered it, He determined to go forward to atone for sins of rejection on behalf of billions.
MK 32 Peter's Fall and Restoration      Mark 14.54
Christ had warned Peter that Satan sought to claim him, and that he could not follow him to death, but the apostle paid no heed and fell to his shameful denial. Here are the lessons for us, with a view of the love of Christ in melting and receiving His erring people.

MK 33 The Lord Takes Stock         Mark 15.1
Christ before Pilate, falsely charged and violently abused, continues undeterred to His goal - an atoning death on behalf of billions of people. Here we see the depravity of the people - our depravity - and the incomprehensible love of the Saviour. Here is a sight of our indebtedness to Him.
MK 34 Christ Crucified         Mark 15.20
The hours of Calvary, looking specially at Simon who carried the cross, the two thieves, the three hours of darkness (their significance), and the rending of the veil. The most astonishing event of all history, the most costly, and the most productive in purchasing eternal salvation for countless souls.

MK 35 Power in Death          Mark 15.39
When Christ completed His atoning death for sinners, even the lesser immediate effects were remarkable. The centurion and his detail professed that Christ was God; the faith of supporting women disciples was tested and marvellously proved, and Joseph of Arimathea was stirred to bury Him at great personal risk. Here are the lessons.
MK 36 Belief for Believers        Mark 16.14
The theme of the final verses of Mark's Gospel is the necessity of exercised faith and trust for Gospel instrumentality and evidences of God's power. Why did the apostles fail to believe on the resurrection? Here is the Lord's correction and promise.

MK 37 The Great Commission         Mark 16.15
Every congregation is commanded to evangelize and proclaim the saving message of Christ and here we see the implications of obedience, and the glorious 'signs following' of internalized miracles of conversion.
